Dr. Dorr Makes A Grade 2 House Call

Fresh off of his first career stakes win and riding a 2 race win streak Dr. Dorr lived up to the expectations and romped home to a 7 1/2 length victory in the Grade 2 Californian Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Piloted by regular rider Joe Talamo, Dr. Dorr stalked the pace set by Soi Phet, took control at the 3/8 pole and cruised home for the dominant victory. In the victory, Dr. Dorr earned a career best Beyer Speed Figure of 108 and in the process stamped himself as a contender in the Handicap-Classic Division in California. It is the first graded stakes win for the 5 year old dark brown gelding and the 5th victory of his career in 11 starts.

Owned by Jill Baffert and trained by husband Bob, Dr. Dorr now has career earnings of $288,320. Dr. Dorr was bred in Kentucky by Bob Baffert along with M.Auerbach, LLC. and the late A-list actor Jack Klugman.
