Our Silver Oak Storms Home in The Snow Chief

After a recent run of unlucky trips and outcomes, Our Silver Oak finally got clear sailing and stormed home to win the $200,000 Snow Chief Stakes for Cal-bred 3 year old colts at 9 Furlongs on the Santa Anita Turf Course. Under the capable handling of Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith, Our Silver Oak broke cleanly was taken back, and guided out to the clear on the far turn where he unleased a furious turn of foot to get up by head for the victory. The win for the #AuerbachBred gelding was made even sweeter by turning the tables on rival and fellow son of Unusual Heat Irish Heatwave who was a game 2nd.

Racing for owners Michael Nentwig, Robertp Jones and Ray Pagano, Our Silver Oak is conditioned by trainer Jonathan Wong and now sports a career record of 11-2-4-2 and earnings of $224,694. In addition to the black type win in the Snow Chief, Our Silver Oak also has stakes placings in the 2018 Barrett's Juvenile Stakes, 2018 King Glorious Stakes and 2019 Silky Sullivan Stakes to his credit.

Our Silver Oak was bred in California by M.Auerbach, LLC.. He is by Unusual Heat out of the Alphabet Soup mare Strawberry Flash. He is the 2nd foal out the mare who was aquired by the Auerbachs via the 2015 Keeneland November Sale. Our Silver Oak has a yearling brother by Gervinho and a weanling brother by Acclamation. With his victory in the Snow Chief, Our Silver Oak becomes the 29th Stakes Winner for The Auerbach Family.
