The Hunted Wins The Crystal Water

Unleashing a blazing turn of foot down the lane, The Hunted ran down Tule Fog and the rest of the field to capture the $100,702 Crystal Water Stakes at 1 mile on the turf at Santa Anita Park. Under the perfect handling of jockey Tiago Periera, The Hunted broke comfortably and was eased back into a midfield postion. He was asked for more at the 3/8 pole and dug in under a hand ride by Periera. The Hunted ran clear before the wire to take the 1 length victory, the first stakes win of his career and his first score of 2019.

Trained by Richard Baltas and owned in partnership by M.Auerbach, LLC. with Little Red Feather Racing Club (Billy Koch and Gary Fenton), Joe and Stephanie Ciaglia and Nathan McCauley, The Hunted upped his career record to 10-3-1-2 and career earnings to $155,829.

Bred in California by M.Auerbach,LLC., The Hunted was born at Harris Farms in Coalinga, CA and raised at Catherine Parke's Valkyre Stud in Georgetown Kentucky and is a graduate of the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The Hunted is by Unusual Heat and is out the Jade Hunter mare Lethal Hunter. He is the full brother to Grade 2 Placed Huntsville along with Maiden Allowance winners Lazered and Adler.

The Hunted was acquired by his current ownership group out of the June OBS 2 Year Olds in Training Sale in Ocala, Florida. The Hunted has a yearling sister by Ghostzapper and his dam has been bred to Bolt D'Oro in 2019.
