Scarlet Heat Starts 2020 With a Bang

Scarlet Heat comes from well back and wins a Maiden Allowance, Cal-bred at 1 mile on the turf at Santa Anita Park. Expertly handled by jockey Flavien Prat, Scarlet Heat relaxed and took to the rail early in the race, moved into position on the far turn and then unleashed a furious rally at the 1/8 pole and got up for the victory. The Dan Blacker trained lass now sports a record of 4-1-1-1 and career earnings of $50,351 for owners M.Auerbach, LLC., Rick Gold, Highlander Racing Stable and Radley Equine.

Scarlet Heat was bred in California by M.Auerbach, LLC. and is a graduate of the 2017 Barrett's August Select Yearling Sale where she was the 2nd highest priced sold horse commanding a price of $200,000 from buyers McMahon Hill Bloodstock and Radley Equine. Scarlet Heat is a 4 year old chestnut filly by Unusual Heat and is out of the Johannesburg mare Dancing Jo. She is the full sibling to multiple winner and $200,000 earner Fritz Johansen.
