How Unusual Makes The Grade

How Unusual circled the field and took over in deep stretch to capture the Grade 3 $102,415 Red Carpet Stakes at Del Mat at 1 3/8 miles on the firm turf course. Expertly guided by regular rider Corey Nakatani, How Unusual settled early, saved ground and angled out at the top of the lane to give conditioner Mike Pender the win. It is the first stakes and first graded win for the 4 year old chestnut lass who has now amassed career earnings of $302,367 with 5 career victories. Bred in California by M.Auerbach, LLC. and Barry Abrams, How Unusual is by Unusual Heat out of the Bartok (IRE) mare Veela. She is a full sister to multiple winner Our Heat, 2 year old Nothing But Heat and a weanling full brother.
